My Awning Unwound

So of course when i disconnected the roller from the arms all the tension unwound.

My awning unwound.

Please roll up your awning in case of rain wind or snow. When opening the passenger door with the awning out the top edge will scrape against the awning arm. The extra benefit of doing it that way was that there was enough inertia in the system that it did not get out of control the rafter bars could be left on to unload the spring and both sides would be unwound at the same time. When completely unwound the tube should rotate in the same direction to wind the spring as it would to roll up the awning.

It is assumed that you have already taken down the awning released the tension and the torsion assembly and replaced the locks and caps before re tensioning the spring. I am afraid i might have them too tight. With the upgrade i can wind my awning up so tight now that it will actually lift above the automatic awning support and i have to relax it a bit so it sits in the cradle.
